Met one good person (and a couple of jerks) through it--most of the people who messaged me were completely not what I was interested in, but some were OK. I guess all you really need, ultimately, is one good person.

you'd be better off not dealing with the online dating.  from experience...long distance sucks, usually people lie online, and it can lead to you feeling uncomfortable talking about your relationship.  personally, i'd rather be set up on a blind date than meet someone on the internet.
