Newcastle-upon-Tyne has been named the arts capital of Britain.

The survey looked at the accessibility of the arts and the involvement of each city's population.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne registered the highest number of arts students and the second highest number of theatres per capita (behind Edinburgh).

Results:
